The terminal was designed to receive cement by rail, store it, and load it into bulk trucks.
Railcar unloading
Air gravity conveyors transfer cement from the railcars to a bucket elevator, which discharges into the storage bins. Screw conveyors and drag chain conveyors were also considered for unloading.
Truck loading
Aerated bin bottoms feed air gravity conveyors, which deliver cement to a loading spout equipped with a fabric filter. A two-axis positioner helps reduce the time required to position trucks.
